Excavations at Bridge Farm will run this season from Monday 27th June till Sunday 21st August. They are seeking more diggers: there is an awful lot of work to do, and it is a fascinating site. Plumpton Roman Villa: this summer another programme of research and training excavations will take place, starting Saturday 18th June and ending on Saturday 30th July. Project director: David Rudling. Volunteer excavation opportunities are available Monday-Friday throughout the digging season, 9.30am-5pm.

This event is part of the celebrations of the life and work of Capability Brown who worked at Madingley Hall in 1756. The Hall is now the home of the Institute of Continuing Education of the University of Cambridge. A pdf with full details is attached.

Saxon Epsom will come to life in Rosebery Park. There will be living history displays and crafts. Adults £5 and children under 12 free. A pdf with all details is attached.

This conference will be focussing on the challenges facing Palaeolithic Archaeology in Britain today, and how they might be met or overcome. It has been arranged by Dr Matt Pope and Dr Clive Gamble.

Marc Meltonville, Food Historian at Historic Royal Palaces, will be giving a talk as part of the HLF funded 'Woking Palace and its Park' project. Marc gave a facscinating lecture to the Society on the Georgian kitchens at Kew a couple of years ago and is well known for his television programmes.
