Repair and Uplifting Renewal of Historic Buildings, with examples from Surrey - Society Annual Lecture - Ptolemy Dean

Ptolemy Dean, Bsc(Hons) UCL Dip Arch (Edin) RIBA, architect and artist,  will present the Society's Annual Lecture this year.

Ptolemy Dean specialises in the restoration of historic buildings, as well as designing new buildings in keeping with their surroundings. He has written 'The more people who can read and enjoy historic architecture, the more importance architecture will be given in our society'

In Surrey his recent commissions include work at Farnham and Kingston.  He also appeared in the BBC series The Perfect Village on Radio Four, in which he discussed the qualities which make the 'perfect village', but is perhaps best known as presenter of the BBC TV series Restoration  as a result of which the Watts Gallery at Compton secured the public vote for restoration which is now in progress.

Doors will open at 6.30pm, a cash bar is available from 6.45pm and the lecture will commence at 7.45pm.
